  18. strikes many as an odd choice to serve on Mikhail Gorbachev's
  19. new advisory presidential council. Rasputin's writings and
  20. speeches are often chauvinistically Russian and, according to
  21. some, anti-Semitic. But officials in Moscow think they have
  22. discovered the reason for Rasputin's elevated post. Raisa
  23. Gorbachev is a big fan of his books. A question now making the
  24. Kremlin rounds: Does every Czarina need her Rasputin?
